Total Grazing Practices
At our ranch, we’re committed to restoring the land and raising healthier livestock with the practice of high density rotational grazing. Instead of leaving cattle in one paddock for extended periods of time , we move them multiple times a day into small grazing cells. This high-frequency movement encourages competitive non selective grazing behavior in our cattle while maintaining optimal animal health by grazing a variety of grass quality with each move.
It is important to maintain the balance of protein to fiber ratio throughout each day of grazing. We then give each grazed section adequate time to fully recover and restore the root system of the plants
By managing our grazing density and timing, we improve soil health, increase forage production, and dramatically reduce the need for fertilizers or chemical inputs. Our cattle stay healthier, our pastures stay greener, and our land keeps getting better every season.
